Sligo Players In Inter-Pro Success

Sligo RFC Players and members of the Connacht Youths Squad: Aaron Spring, Rory Kerins (Man of the Match), and Richard Henry (Injured)

Connacht won the U-18 Youths’ Inter-Provincial championship at Mullingar RFC on Saturday last when they defeated Leinster in the final by 19 -7. Playing leading roles in their province’s success were Sligo players, Rory Kerins, who starred at open side wing forward, and 16 year old, Aaron Spring, who impressed at lock when he came off the bench. Both players are key personnel in the Summerhill College’s Senior Cup team against Sligo Grammar School on Wednesday next in the Connacht Schools’ quarter final in Summerhill [kick-off 2.30 p.m.].

A third product of the club, prop forward, Richard Henry, who now plays with UCD, was unavailable for selection due to injury.
Senior coach, Joe Walsh, is a member of the winning team’s coaching staff. Congratulations to all four on their achievement.
