Sligo 1st XV Travel To Headford

On Sunday next, Sligo’s first team travel to Headford, Co. Galway, to play Corrib in Round 4 of the Connacht Junior 1 league. The Corrib side lost their unbeaten record in Ballina last Sunday, so they will be determined not to fall on two successive weeks. The club straddles the Galway/Mayo border, and they certainly have an enviable home record, so Sligo can expect few favours in this game.

The sides last met in March in a Cawley Cup game in Hamilton Park, when the home side were surprisingly defeated. On this occasion Sligo can not afford a similiar slip up. Corrib traditionally have a strong pack, but Sligo are more than capable of matching them in this department. On the injury front, Martin Feeney and Julian Rippon are still out, but wingerThomas Darcel and Gary Conneally should be fit to resume. The game kicks off at 2.30 pm.
