Life Member, Geraldine Feeney, one of Sligo RFC’s staunchest members, was re-elected to Seanad Eireann last week, and in the process headed the poll. She also had the distinction of being the first candidate elected on the Labour Panel.
Geraldine is a most dedicated supporter of the club, since her arrival in Sligo in the 1970’s, and is a regular attender at club games. Her late husband, Frank, served as President in the 1990-91 season, while her son, Frankie, was captain and scrum-half when Sligo last won the Heineken Connacht Junior Cup in 2005.
She is a trojan worker for the club in many capacities over the years. The President, Tom Gilligan, extends congratulations to Geraldine on her election, on behalf of the entire membership of the club.
