Heineken Connacht Junior Cup Draw

Sligo have been drawn away to cup holders Corinthians on January 28th, in the first round of this season’s Heineken Connacht Junior Cup. The draw took place on Monday week last in Bar 1, Castlebar. The winners of this tie will face either Westport, Ballina or Dunmore at home in the quarter final on February 25th, with the victors here being again at home in the semi-final on March 11th. The final will take place in the Galway Sportsgrounds on March 25th.
The draw did Sligo few favours, as Corinthians in Corinthian Park will be formidable opponents. There were 22 teams in the draw, but Sligo will be pleased not to have been drawn in the preliminary round. In this round, Westport must travel to Ballina for a Mayo derby, while Monivea face Tuam, the only team in the province to have defeated them this season.
