Former Sligo RFC under-age, prop/hooker, Sean Henry, a student in the University of Limerick, is making great progress with UL Bohemians, and for the coming season has been honoured with the captaincy of that club’s U-20 side. Sean is also training with the club’s AIL Division 1 senior squad.
A native of Curry, Sean was introduced to rugby at school in Banada Abbey by Jean McConnell. He subsequently won a Connacht Development Junior Schools medal with St. Attracta’s Community School, Tubbercurry. He joined our club’s Youth Section, and played a key role in 2005 in the all-Ireland U-18 all-Ireland League final victory over Barnhall, under coaches, Brendan Leahy and Joe Walsh. With quality front row forwards at a premium in rugby at present, a distinguished career beckons for Sean, and he is wished well in his future career from the President, and everyone in Sligo RFC.
