Tickets for the club’s Annual Dinner, which takes place in the Sligo Park Hotel on Sunday May 4th, and which is being sponsored by AIB, went on sale on Thursday last. As already stated in these notes, the special Guest Speaker is Munster and Ireland legend, Anthony Foley, fresh from his exertions in Gloucester last week-end. Anthony is retiring from the game at the end of this season. He is assured of a very warm Sligo welcome.
It promises to be a truly memorable occasion, and the event is certain to sell out quickly. A number of local dignitaries from the worlds of sport and politics will be present at the dinner.
The evening will get under way with a pre-dinner drinks reception at 7.30 pm. Tickets cost 60 euro, and may be purchased from any of the Organising Sub-Committee of Billy Leahy, Clare Storey, Mary O’Hehir, Orla Gilligan and Niall Draper, or from the club President, Tom Gilligan. All applications for tickets must be accompanied by the appropriate amount of cash [or cheque], to complete the booking. Tickets are being sold on a ”first come, first served” basis, so early purchase is advised by the organisers, as sales were very brisk on the opening few days.
A meeting of the Organisers will take place on Thursday next in The Glasshouse Hotel at 6.30 p.m..
