Community Games Success

Annual holidays, or perhaps the modesty and/or bashfulness of the respective managers, conspired to ensure that the author of these notes was unaware that Sligo teams had a clean sweep in all the Connacht Community Games rugby finals a few weeks ago. In the U-11 Tag final, Ballymote, coached by Michael McMorrow, have qualified for the National semi-final, while for the second year in succession, the Coolera U-14 Tag team have qualified for Mosney. This squad is coached by Michael O’Hehir, assisted by Pat Burke. The third provincial winners are the Maugheraboy U-11 full rugby side, coached by club Juvenile Coach, David Murray, assisted by Mayo GAA legend and former All-Star, T.J. Kilgallon. All three sides are congratulated on their outstanding achievements to date, and are wished well by the President and the Committee in the National Finals in Mosney, Co. Meath next week-end.

Best wises also to U-14 players, Kieran Blake and Jason McGoldrick, who are both representing their areas, Cornageeha and St.Michael’s respectively, in athletics.
