The game was a much laboured affair in the opening minutes with the Xmas rest taking its toll on the skills of the game, Sligo broke the deadlock when Darragh Byrne ran a try in from a good individual run off the wing. Evan Mc Garth stepped up to kick the conversion from a difficult angle but the trusty boot failed to bring it between the posts.
