Tickets have gone on sale for the Christmas party which will take place in the Glasshouse Hotel on Thursday December 20th, and are available from members of the organising sub-committee. Tickets cost 25 euro each, and the evening which certainly should be memorable, commences at 8 pm. Fancy dress is optional. The event is sponsored by Anglo Irish Bank, Markievicz Road,who have recently opened their branch in Sligo, and which is managed by former Sligo GAA star, and keen sportsman, Jim Kent. The President and the Committee wish to express their gratitude to the sponsors and to the organising sub-committee of Billy Leahy [Chair.], Clare Storey, Therese Cosgrove, Niall Draper and Senior Vice-President, Conor Frazer, for all their work in organising the event.

All members are requested to make a special effort this week to sell all their tickets for the bumper Christmas draw which will take place in the Glasshouse Hotel during the club’s party on Thursday December 21st, and to return all cash and any unsold tickets [presumably, there will be none] to the draw organiser, Joe Burgess at 071-9177150. Any seller requiring an extra supply of tickets this week should also contact Joe. For these who have yet to purchase tickets for the draw, there is an array of very valuable prizes on offer, including a magnificent Christmas Hamper, Week-ends away, Stand Tickets for Six Nations International, Dinners For Two, Vouchers, Cases of Wine and a host of other prizes. The draw takes place at 10 pm at the party, so if you are not in, you can’t win!

Event organiser, Joe Burgess was very busy over the week-end distributing draw tickets to various club personnel. As stated in last week’s notes, the draw is for a host of very valuable prizes and will take place at the Christmas party for club workers in the Glasshouse Hotel on Thursday December 20th. Sellers are urged to do their utmost to dispose of their allocation as soon as possible, and to return the proceeds to Joe at their earliest convenience.
Applications for tickets for the 2008 Six Nations’ Internationals [both home and away] are now being accepted. As in previous years, all applicants must be fully paid up members of the club. As the number of applicants invariably greatly exceeds the club’s allocation of tickets, preference will be given to members who are workers in some capacity in the club, and who are members of the club’s monthly draw. The club President has appointed the following International Tickets Sub-Committee for this season: Michael Storey [Chair.] [Hon. Club Sec.], Rory Raftery [Membership Sec.], Jonathan Hill [Sponsorship Comm. Chairman], Brian Mullan [Club Trustee], Vincent O’Brien [Club Trustee].
Tickets for Sligo RFC’s dinner dance in the Sligo Park Hotel on Saturday April 21st are now sold out. All table hosts should confirm their numbers to Gerry O’Daly or Tom Gilligan by Thursday, April 12th.
Tickets for Sligo’s annual dinner dance on April 21st, in the Sligo Park hotel, have almost sold out. Orders for tickets should reach the club’s Social Committee Chairman, Gerry O’Daly or the club President, Tom Gilligan by Wednesday April 4th.
The alcohol-free disco which takes place on Friday next, March 30th in the Clubhouse, Hamilton Park at 9 pm, is stricly all ticket, and under no circumstances will anybody who has not already purchased a ticket be admitted. Tickets have been on sale from the usual sellers for the past ten days. The disco will cater for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Year students in Post-primary schools only. All stewards are required to report for duty at 8.30 pm.
Tickets for Sligo RFC’s annual dinner dance, which will be held in the Sligo Park Hotel on Saturday April 21st are now on sale from club president, Tom Gilligan or from the Chairperson of the Social Sub-Committee, Gerry O’Daly. As the hotel has capped attendance this year at 320, and tickets are being sold on a ‘first come, first served’ basis, early purchase of tickets is recommended.
Tickets for Sligo RFC’s dinner dance in the Sligo Park Hotel on Saturday April 21st are priced are 55 Euro and are available from sub-committee members, Gerry O’Daly, Ann-Marie O’Daly, Clare Storey, Mary O’Hehir, Meg Leahy or Tom Gilligan. The hotel are this year capping the attendance at 320, and the tickets are being sold on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. There will be a drinks reception at 7.30 pm, and dinner will be served at 8 pm.
The special after dinner speaker is the 72 times capped Ulster player, David Humphreys. A new award being presented this year by the club President is the Hall of Fame Award.
Tickets for next Friday night’s alcohol-free teenage disco in the Clubhouse, Hamilton Park, went on sale last week-end, and at the time of going to press have almost sold out. The disco commences at 9 pm, and is strictly an all ticket event. Anybody who has not purchased a ticket is advised not to present on the evening, as they will not gain admission. The Event Organiser, Peter Gillespie, requires all stewards to be present not later than 8.30 pm on that evening.

The tickets for the upcoming International between Ireland and France in Croke Park on February 11th were allocated at a meeting of the club’s International sub-committee on Thursday last. Despite the 82,500 capacity of Croke Park, Sligo RFC received a mere 12 extra tickets compared to their usual allocation. However, requests to purchase tickets more than trebled. The tickets were distributed by the sub-committee strictly in accordance with the criteria published on Page 25 of 2006/07 Membership Handbook. All fully paid up club members who are also members of the club’s monthly draw and who are also active workers on behalf of the club were given the option to purchase tickets.
A record number of applications have been received for tickets for all of Ireland’s Six Nations games. The criteria for the purchase of tickets is explicitly stated on Page 25 of the club membership booklet for 2006/07. These criteria will be strictly adhered to by the International Tickets Sub-Committee of Michael Storey (Chairman), Brian Mullan (Trustee, Hon. Secretary), Vincent O’Brien (Club Trustee) and Rory Rafferty (Hon. Membership Secretary), to ensure that the most deserving are accommodated. Tickets for the away game with Wales on Sunday, February 4th will be allocated this week.
