Last Friday’s special St. Valentine’s alcohol-free teenage disco was another huge success. The all ticket event was thoroughly enjoyed by all the patrons. Once again, the Event Organiser, Justin Harte, did an outstanding job, and the entire membership are indebted to Justin for the superbly efficient manner in which he discharges all his duties. Special gratitude is also due to Chief Steward, Niall Draper, who as usual planned the logistics so well, and to House Chairman, John Kane, for all his preparatory work. The success of the discos is also due to the loyal cohort of members who, often at considerable personal inconvenience, are ever present as stewards. On this occasion, there were 29 stewards present, and the club President wishes to again thank them for their continued dedication to the club. The next disco will be on Thursday March 20th. All tickets for the special St. Valentine’s alcohol-free teenage disco, which will be held in the Clubhouse, Hamilton Park on Friday next, February 15th at 9 pm, completely sold out last week. This is a strictly all ticket event, so anybody not in possession of a ticket for the disco should not come near the precincts of the club on Friday evening, as they will not gain admittance. There will be absolutely no possibility of cash being accepted at the door, and there will be no exceptions to this, so parents/guardians are advised to ensure that their son/daughter does not come to Sligo RFC on Friday evening without a ticket.
The Event Organiser, Justin Harte, has all arrangements in place and has again engaged a top DJ. The Chief Steward will be Niall Draper, and all stewards should report to Niall no later than 8.30 pm on Friday next.

Top D.J., Levi Curran will provide the music. Tickets for the disco went on sale from the usual sellers last week, and at the time of going to press had almost sold out, so to avoid disappointment, immediate purchase is recommended.

As stated in the past two week’s notes in this newspaper, this will be a strictly ticket only event, so intending patrons should purchase their tickets without delay. Parents/Guardians are advised that their son/daughter will require a ticket to gain admittance to the disco, and if they have not previously purchased one, they should not come near the precincts of Sligo RFC on that evening, as under no circumstances will cash be accepted. Once again, a top D.J.has been engaged, so another great evening’s entertainment is assured.

This will be a strictly all ticket event, and again the Committee of Sligo RFC will insist that only those in possession of a ticket for the event will gain admittance, and there will be absolutely no exceptions to this. Accordingly, parents and guardians are advised of this, and they are requested to check if their teenager has a ticket for the disco, as teenagers should not approach the precincts of the club without a ticket.

The teenage alcohol free, all ticket disco, which was held in the Clubhouse, Hamilton Park, on Friday last, attracted a capacity crowd and was a huge success. The success of the evening was principally due to the work of the Event Organiser, Justin Harte, who did an outstanding job, and to Niall Draper, who co-ordinated the stewarding. The club President, on behalf of the committee extends gratitude to Justin and Niall for their expertise and professionalism in running the event. Once again, DJ, Levi Curran did an excellent job. Many thanks to the 28 stewards for so selflessly giving of their time, and whose presence ensured everything ran so smoothly.
The President, and all club members wish 2nd team player, James Coulter well, as he travels to Cape Town, South Africa this week, to participate in the Niall Mellon Township house building programme. James deserves commendation for his idealism, selflessness and humanitarianism. Sligo RFC are delighted to have raised a portion of the funding required by James for the project, from the special charity disco held in the Clubhouse last July, and through the raffle held at the function on the night of the Tag rugby final, the proceeds of both which were jointly shared between James’ Niall Mellon Fund’ and the Sligo Branch of Special Olympics.
