Applications for tickets for the 2008 Six Nations’ Internationals [both home and away] are now being accepted. As in previous years, all applicants must be fully paid up members of the club. As the number of applicants invariably greatly exceeds the club’s allocation of tickets, preference will be given to members who are workers in some capacity in the club, and who are members of the club’s monthly draw. The club President has appointed the following International Tickets Sub-Committee for this season: Michael Storey [Chair.] [Hon. Club Sec.], Rory Raftery [Membership Sec.], Jonathan Hill [Sponsorship Comm. Chairman], Brian Mullan [Club Trustee], Vincent O’Brien [Club Trustee].
The November monthly meeting of the club will take place on Tuesday, November 13th at 8 pm in Bree’s Bar, Strandhill. This is an extremely important meeting, and all members of the committee will be furnished with official notification and documentation by the Hon. Secretary, Michael Storey.

The September Monthly Meeting of the Club will be held in Bree’s Bar, Strandhill, on Tuesday next September 11th at 8 pm sharp.
The President, Tom Gilligan, has appointed Niall Draper as a member of the club’s Executive Committee for the coming season. Niall’s playing career has been put on hold because of a knee injury, so this season he has become involved in club administration, and he was elected on to the Committee at the AGM in May.
The present Club Constitution, with some minor amendments over the years, has been in existence for over 40 years. At a recent meeting of the Executive Committee, it was unanimously agreed that the Constitution should be reviewed and that the redrafted Constitution will then be brought before an EGM or an AGM for ratification by the membership. The President has appointed three former club Presidents, Eamonn McGowan [Chair.], Joe Burgess and Aidan Buckley to carry out this review, and they will report back to the Executive Committee when their work is completed.
The August monthly committee meeting of the club has been deferred from the 14th of August. A new date for the August meeting will be posted shortly.
A meeting of the Executive Committee will be held in Bree’s Bar,Strandhill on Tuesday next [July 24th.] at 9 pm. The members of the Executive Committee for this season are: Conor Frazer [Senior Vice-President], Chairman, Tom Gilligan [President], Clare Storey, Michael O’Hehir, Michael Storey and John Kane.

Last Friday evening’s EGM in the Glasshouse Hotel attracted a record attendance for a club meeting. Presentations were made to the meeting by three members of the Development sub-committee, Tom Gilligan, Des Butler and Rory Raftery, who gave updates to Life members and members on progress to date on the club’s plans to relocate. All recommendations from the sub-committee were unanimously endorsed by the meeting, and several speakers from the floor paid warm tributes to the members of the sub-committee, who will now proceed to bring plans for the relocation to their conclusion.
The members of the Development sub-committee are Des Butler [Chairman], Tom Gilligan, Michael O’Hehir, Rory Raftery, John Davey, Conor Frazer and Brendan Leahy.
Two very important meetings of Sligo RFC will take place in the Glasshouse Hotel this week. On Wednesday [June 13 th], the first monthly meeting of the incoming committee for the 2007-8 season takes place. This meeting will deal with a number of urgent matters, as well as routine business, while the members will also be given an update on the club’s proposed new development.
On Friday [June15th] at 8pm, as advertised in the public notices of last week’s Sligo Champion, a special EGM of Life Members and fully paid up members of Sligo RFC will be held in the Glasshouse Hotel. At this meeting, the location of the site for the proposed relocation of the club will be announced to the members. Three members of the Development Sub-Committee, club President, Tom Gilligan, Chairman of the Sub-Committee, Des Butler, and Rory Raftery, will make presentations to the meeting ragarding the development. The membership will then have the opportunity to endorse or oppose the proposed development.
The June monthly meeting, which will be the first meeting of the incoming committee for the 2007-8 season, will be held in the Glasshouse Hotel on Wednesday June 13th at 8 pm. In addition to the normal important routine club business, a power point presentation by the Chairman of the club’s Development Sub-Committee, Des Butler, will be given to the meeting.
At the well attended AGM of Sligo RFC, held in the Glasshouse Hotel on Friday last, the following were elected to serve on the Committee for the coming season:
The AGM of the club takes place on Friday next [May 18th] in the Glasshouse Hotel. Hon. Secretary, Michael Storey, will report on a successful season, in which much progress was made, especially at under-age level, and in off field projects. Among the highlights were the capping of Jason East for Ireland at Youth level, and the selection of four Sligo players, Cathal Sheridan [Ransboro], Sean Henry [Curry], James Wilson [Beltra] and Ronan Gillespie [Sligo], on the Connacht U-20 side.
