At the well attended AGM of Sligo RFC, held in the Glasshouse Hotel on Friday last, the following were elected to serve on the Committee for the coming season:
President; Tom Gilligan, Senior Vice-President; Conor Frazer, Junior Vice-President; Brendan Leahy, Hon. Secretary; Michael Storey, Hon. Treasurer; Jimmy Staunton; Assistant Hon. Treasurer; Clare Storey; Joint Chairpersons of Sponsorship Committee; Michael O’Hehir, Jonathan Hill, House Chairman; John Kane, Hon. Fixtures Secretary; Eamonn McGowan, Connacht Branch Representatives [2]; Conor Frazer, Joe Burgess, Hon. Membership Sec.; Rory Raftery, Hon. Registration Sec.; Jonathan Hill, Social Secretary; Billy Leahy, Bar Chairman; Mick Lucey, Youth Section Chair.; John Davey, Development Committee Chairman.; Des Butler, Members [3], Elected from Floor; Peter Gillespie, Niall Draper, Aidan Buckley. The captain and vice-captain of the 1st. team, who will be appointed shortly, will also serve on the committee.
The Trustees of the club are: Brian Mullan, Vincent O’Brien and Declan Dunne.
The Executive Committee is as follows; Conor Frazer [Chair], Tom Gilligan [Ex Officio], Michael Storey, Clare Storey, John Kane, Michael O’Hehir, Brendan Leahy.
The Development Sub-Committee is: Des Butler [Chair.], Tom Gilligan, Rory Raftery, Conor Frazer, Brendan Leahy, Michael O’Hehir, John Davey.
The President thanked all who worked so assiduously on behalf of the club throughout the season and paid a special tribute to the departing Grounds’ chairman and club referee, Denis Connolly, and to Jason East who was capped for Ireland at Youth level.
